Even though the 6 times Champion of Spain was unable to compete
at the Championships in Cordoba this year he was well represented
and the line up was a proud testament to this wonderful breed of
ponies and in particular to Ribble Valley. The first four placed
ponies were from Ribble Valley. Bucky's Father Nefydd Super Sir
is the new champion of Spain, also representing Bucky were Ribble
Valley Bold as Brass (bronze) and Ribble Valley Mar Mytico ( 4th).
It has been a very sad time for us here at Ribble Valley and consequently
we did'nt attend the championships this year it would have been
to painful for us.

NEFYDD BUCCANEER CHAMPION OF SPAIN FOR 6TH
TIME (2006)
The incredible Nefydd Buccaneer Champion of Spain again for the
6th time and his son Ribble Valley Mar Mystico who won the bronze
medal at his first Championship and at only 5 years old. Our congratulations
go to Ariadna Alvarez Pou for once again emerging Champions of Spain
in this Ari last year with Bucky and also too the delightful Elisabeth
Espinosa for such an outstanding performance with Misty in their
first Championship.

New ponies arriving at Ribble Valley ....Ribble Valley Carylmio
Gold Rover, a pony with a great future either as a ridden pony or
an ideal candidate for driving."ICE-CREAM" is also a big
winner and was placed in a very good palomino class at the Royal
Welsh. |
...and Ribble Valley Sudden Truprint Champion Royal Windsor and
at the British Show Pony Championships Summer Show Tilly was the
winner of an enormous class and reserve champion show pony. |

Ribble Valley Ruby Star competing in The Copa
Enfanta Elena in Madrid. Manuel Alonso Ten Zeldam competing in the
Copa Infanta Elena in Madrid. This lovely young mare looks like
having a very successful career in show jumping prooving just what
versatility the Welsh Pony has.

3 lovely Welsh ponies take gold, silver and bronze
in the Spanish Pony Dressage Championships of Spain. Gold Nefydd
Buccaneer, Ariadna Alvarez Pou, silver Manuel Alonso Ten Zeldam
riding his mother Astrids section A stallion Zonnewide Jacinto and
bronze, Beth Espinosa with the son of Buccaneer, Ribble Valley Mar
Mystico.

The Ribble Valley Stud deals exclusively in the breeding
and production of Welsh Ponies, Welsh Mountain Ponies and Welsh Cobs and
is situated in Benisa on the Spanish Costa Blanca in a breathtakingly
beautiful situation, being below the mountains and having glorious views
of the sea.
The Ribble Valley Stud is owned and run by Paul and Sue Horey.
At Ribble Valley Stud, we specialise in ponies for children, with the
ponies' temperament always being our first consideration. Almost all of
our stallions and mares are backed and ridden.
We will find you a top class competition pony for your child. We handle
everything for you. The vetting, the transport, the health papers and
delivery to your yard.
We have placed ponies in C.A.V.A. with Maya and Victor Alvarez and have
recently found the delightful eventing pony Quarndale Quality Street (pictured
below) for Juan and Maria Matute for their children to compete on.
Sue and Paul wish Juan and Paula every success with "Sweetie"
and hope they have a long and happy career together.
This pony has competed at the highest level in the U.K. and was Reserve
Supreme Champion Working Hunter Pony at the British Championships. Juan
and Maria are delighted with him.

We are thrilled to announce that Nefydd Buccaneer is once again the
reigning
champion of Spain in Pony Dressage. Bucky was once again ridden to victory
by the very special dressage rider Ariadna Alvarez Pou.
We are even more thrilled to report that his home bred son the 5 year
old
gelding Ribble Valley Mar Mytico took the bronze medal in a strong class
of
12 ponies. His 9 year old rider, Beth Espinosa rode him confidently
and
competently. This is a rider with a great future and one to be watched
out for.

Buccaneer was the only pony in the world invited to take part.
